About This Tour
Embark on an unforgettable full-day adventure from Stobreč Harbor to the legendary Blue Lagoon and the serene Nečujam Bay on Šolta Island. Aboard our beautifully crafted 20-meter traditional wooden boat, you will cruise through the crystal-clear waters of the Central Dalmatian archipelago, stopping at the most breathtaking swimming and snorkeling spots the Adriatic has to offer. The Blue Lagoon, nestled between the islands of Krknjaši, is famous for its impossibly turquoise water, sandy seabed, and calm, shallow bays - perfect for swimmers of all levels. Continue to Nečujam Bay on Šolta Island, a hidden gem surrounded by lush pine forests and pristine coastline. Throughout the day, our experienced crew prepares fresh Croatian cuisine on board while you relax on the sun deck, explore underwater reefs with provided snorkeling gear, or simply soak in the Mediterranean sunshine. This is more than a boat tour - it is an authentic taste of life on the Adriatic, the way locals have enjoyed it for centuries.
The route — what you'll pass on the way
From Stobreč Harbor we head west along the Split peninsula, passing the historic Diocletian's Palace on your right and the wooded hills of Marjan beyond. Within 30 minutes the city skyline gives way to open water as we cross the Brač Channel — on clear days you'll see the silhouette of Vidova Gora (778 m, the highest island peak in the Adriatic) to the south. We approach the Šolta archipelago from the east, threading past the small islands of Mrduja and Šešula before arriving at the sheltered bay of the Krknjaši Blue Lagoon. After the swim stop, we cruise the south coast of Šolta — small chapels and stone villages dot the shoreline — before anchoring at the wider Nečujam Bay for lunch and an afternoon swim. The return route follows the same channel, this time with the Split skyline growing on the horizon as the afternoon light catches the cathedral bell tower. Total round-trip distance is approximately 30 nautical miles.
The boat
Our boat is a 20-metre traditional Dalmatian wooden vessel — originally a working commercial fishing boat that Captain Marin ran for fifteen years out of Stobreč before converting it for passenger tours. The deck is large enough for everyone to find a spot in the sun or shade, with cushioned benches around the perimeter, a covered cabin for lunch and shelter from wind, and a small swim platform at the stern for easy water access. The oiled-wood deck stays warm but never burns under bare feet — a small thing that turns out to matter on a long summer day, especially compared to the hot fiberglass or aluminium decks on speedboats. Maximum capacity is 80 guests, but we typically run with 40–60 to keep the deck comfortable. All life jackets, snorkeling gear, and freshwater shower facilities are on board.
Cancellation, kids & accessibility
Cancellation: Free up to 24 hours before departure — full refund, no questions asked. After 24 hours, the booking is non-refundable unless we cancel the tour due to weather, in which case you receive a full refund or a rebook on another date.
Kids: The tour is suitable for all ages. Children under 5 sail free; ages 5–12 receive a discounted fare. We carry child-sized life jackets and the boat is stable enough for toddlers (calm waters, no high-speed sections). The Blue Lagoon's shallow bay is ideal for nervous swimmers.
Accessibility: The boat is reachable via a short ramp from the dock at Stobreč; Split Port boarding involves a 30-cm step up. The deck is flat once you're aboard, but the bay swims require water entry from the side of the boat (no shore access at the Blue Lagoon). For specific mobility questions, contact us before booking and we'll be honest about what's feasible.

Perfect For
Why we run a traditional wooden boat
Most Split tours run on fiberglass speedboats or aluminium catamarans. Our boat is a 20-metre traditional wooden Dalmatian vessel — originally a working commercial fishing boat that Captain Marin ran for fifteen years before converting it for passenger tours. It is the same hull, the same captain, the same knowledge of these waters. On the water it is a different day.
A smoother ride through chop
A 20-tonne wooden hull cuts through 2–3 ft Adriatic chop. Speedboats slam against the same waves — wet, bouncy, hard on backs and stomachs. You feel the difference within the first 10 minutes of the crossing.
Real shade and real space
Covered saloon, sun deck, sun loungers, a galley, and a bathroom. Speedboats give you a small bimini and a hard bench. On a six-hour day in the sun, the difference is comfort versus endurance.
Wooden deck under your feet
A small thing that turns out to matter: in July, a fiberglass or aluminium deck under bare feet gets hot enough that you flinch. Our oiled-wood deck stays warm but never burns — you can walk barefoot all day, even at midday. Same with the benches: wood breathes, plastic and metal cook.
A slower boat is the point
A speedboat treats the crossing as wasted time to minimise. A wooden boat treats the crossing as the day. You eat lunch on deck, you swim from the side, you watch Brač roll past at 8 knots. The boat is half the experience, not a taxi to a destination.
Family- and group-friendly by design
Stable hull, no spray, a real bathroom, room to walk around. Toddlers nap in the saloon. Grandparents sit in the shade. Friends spread across the sun deck without crowding each other. A working fishing-boat design turns out to be unusually well-suited to mixed groups.
A captain who knows this exact boat
Marin Ribičić ran this boat as a commercial fisherman out of Stobreč for fifteen years before tourism. He knows the hull in heavy weather, the engine's quirks, which bays stay sheltered when the jugo blows. The boat and the captain came up together.
More on the captain: meet Marin Ribičić.
Onboard atmosphere
This is a relaxed Dalmatian boat day, not a hardcore booze cruise — but we are not the quiet boat either. We have a sound system, your playlist is welcome, cold drinks are sold on board, and when the group is up for it the afternoon tends to get light-party. We read the group: families with small kids get a calm day, friend groups get music and a livelier deck. Tell the captain what kind of day you want and he will set the tone.
